Bolt and Lucid plan to launch at least 25,000 robotaxis on the European market.

European mobility platform Bolt and American electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid have announced a strategic partnership in the field of autonomous transport. The companies plan to jointly develop and launch at least 25,000 fully autonomous vehicles on the European market.

Future vehicles will be built on Lucid’s new midsize platform and designed for SAE Level 4 autonomous driving—meaning the vehicle will be capable of completing a trip without driver intervention under certain conditions. The project also entails the use of the NVIDIA Hyperion autonomous driving architecture. Lucid Group, Inc.

Bolt plans not only to provide vehicles through its platform but also to own and operate the future fleet. The company intends to develop the infrastructure, operating systems, and city partnerships necessary to scale autonomous services. Lucid Group, Inc.

However, specific timelines for the 25,000 vehicles to hit the road have not yet been announced, nor has the investment volume for the project. Therefore, it is more accurate to refer to the partnership's target figure rather than an already established fleet of robotaxis. Euronext

The partnership is part of Bolt’s broader strategy: the company has announced its intention to increase the number of autonomous vehicles on its platform to 100,000 by 2035. Euronext
