Waydoo, a company specializing in electric hydrofoils (eFoils), released the second generation of its flagship board—the Flyer One+—in 2022. This model succeeded the original Flyer One and, according to the manufacturer, introduced significant upgrades in design, power, and usability.
What has changed compared to the first version
According to the official Waydoo blog, the Flyer One+ board has become both lighter and stronger thanks to a redesigned aluminum frame; the company reports reduced weight and increased structural rigidity. Users can also choose the hull material—expanded polypropylene (EPP) or carbon fiber—depending on their preferences and budget.
A key change concerns the powertrain: according to Waydoo, the updated propulsion system is more powerful yet more compact, and propeller efficiency has increased. The manufacturer specifies a top speed of around 40 km/h—a notable improvement over the performance of the first-generation Flyer One.
Particular attention has been paid to acoustics: according to the company, the redesigned propeller hydrodynamics reduce noise levels during operation, making the experience more comfortable for both the rider and others on the water.
Battery and electronics
The removable PowerFlight Cell battery, which powers the board, has been upgraded for faster charging—a full cycle takes around two hours, a figure Waydoo positions as one of the best in its class. The Bluetooth module facilitating communication between the controller, mast, and propulsion unit has also been refined to ensure a more stable connection in choppy water.
Control is handled via a proprietary handheld controller with smooth speed adjustment; the interface retains the concept of the original Flyer One but features upgraded electronics.

Configuration and positioning
The Flyer One+ comes in a dedicated case designed for the convenient transport of the entire kit—board, mast, battery, and accessories. The manufacturer is banking on the model maintaining an affordable price point for its category while offering a superior riding experience compared to the previous generation.
Waydoo itself describes the launch of the Flyer One+ as a logical evolution of the product line, addressing requests from users of the original Flyer One who wanted a lighter, faster, and quieter board without a significant increase in price.
