JX-6A — a flying lifebuoy for rescuing people in the water

The Chinese company DIDIOK MAKINGS has developed the JX-6A, an unusual drone designed for water rescues. The device combines the functions of a quadcopter and a floating rescue aid: it can rapidly fly to a person in the water and then remain on the surface, providing them with a source of buoyancy.

The key feature of the JX-6A is its ring-shaped design, which allows the device to fly while also serving as a lifebuoy. The manufacturer states that it is capable of taking off, hovering, and landing directly on water, as well as taking off again after landing.

Key characteristics

According to the manufacturer, the JX-6A weighs approximately 4.38 kg and has a buoyancy of 190 N. Its maximum speed exceeds 13 m/s, the flight time is rated at over 10 minutes, and the control range is approximately 1.1 km.

The drone is equipped with a camera with an adjustable tilt angle and a remote control featuring a 5-inch screen. This allows the operator to monitor the person in the water and guide the craft more precisely to the scene of the incident.

The manufacturer also specifies an IP68 rating, wind resistance up to Level 6, and automatic return upon signal loss.

Where it can be used

The JX-6A is designed for various water-related emergencies, including those occurring at beaches, on rivers and lakes, during floods, and at maritime facilities. The manufacturer also identifies rescue services, fire departments, the coast guard, and marine police as potential users.
