Release date: January 9, 2026 — the model's official premiere. Honda plans to launch sales in Thailand and Vietnam in the spring of 2026.
Honda has unveiled the UC3, a new electric city scooter designed primarily for daily commuting. The model is part of Honda's plans to expand its lineup of electric two-wheelers.
In terms of design, the UC3 differs significantly from classic motorcycles. It features a characteristic scooter layout, so for the average user, it is more accurate to view it as an electric scooter designed for city use.
Up to 122 kilometers on a single charge
Honda has equipped the UC3 with a 6 kW electric motor. It has a top speed of around 80 km/h, making the scooter suitable for use not only on small city streets but also on faster urban routes.
The manufacturer claims a range of up to 122 km. However, Honda notes that this figure is based on the WMTC Mode 1 cycle used in Thailand, so the actual range will depend on speed, temperature, load, and riding style.
The scooter uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It is permanently installed—the battery cannot simply be removed and taken indoors for charging.
Three driving modes
Three modes are provided for different driving conditions: Standard, Sport, and Econ.
Standard is designed for normal driving, Sport offers a more dynamic response, and Econ focuses on energy efficiency.
There is also a reverse mode, which can prove useful when parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
The scooter connects to a smartphone.
Honda has equipped the UC3 with digital features. The Honda RoadSync system allows the scooter to be paired with a smartphone, enabling the use of various connected functions.
Thus, the UC3 is no longer merely an electric motor with a battery. Electronics are becoming part of the scooter's entire control system and its everyday use.
Where will the Honda UC3 appear?
In the initial phase, Honda is focusing on Thailand and Vietnam. Sales were scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026.
Honda has not yet officially announced the launch of the UC3 in Europe, so European buyers should not currently consider it a locally available model.
Why UC3 is interesting
Honda demonstrates that the shift to electric power is not limited to high-performance motorcycles; ordinary city scooters, which people use every day, are of great importance.
The UC3 combines moderate power, a range of up to 122 km, digital features, and a familiar scooter design. It is a convenient choice for commuting to work or school, running errands, and handling other city-based activities.
However, the model is currently aimed primarily at the Asian market. If Honda decides to expand sales to other regions, the UC3 could become an option for transitioning from a gasoline-powered scooter to an electric one.
