FLIT M2i: 13.3 kg folding e-bike hits the market

The British company FLIT has unveiled a new version of its folding e-bike, the FLIT M2i. The model's key feature is its weight of just 13.3 kg, including the battery. This is 1.2 kg less than the stated weight of the standard FLIT M2.

At the same time, the manufacturer did not turn the M2i into a stripped-down bicycle: the model features an integrated battery, hydraulic disc brakes, lighting, and a full-fledged electric drive system.

What's inside

The FLIT M2i is equipped with a 250W rear hub motor delivering a maximum torque of 35 Nm. The system utilizes a bottom bracket torque sensor, so the electric motor's assistance depends on the rider's pedaling effort.

The 230 Wh battery is concealed within the aluminum frame. FLIT claims a range of up to 50 km, though this figure depends on the assist mode, rider weight, and terrain. A full charge takes about 3 hours.

The bicycle has a single gear and is designed primarily for city use. The maximum speed with electric assistance is 25 km/h.

The main feature is the mass.

Weight is the M2i's key selling point. At 13.3 kg (including the battery), the bike is much easier to carry up and down stairs, take onto a train, or store at home.

When folded, the bicycle measures approximately 797 × 600 × 305 mm.

To reduce weight, FLIT used lightweight components from manufacturers such as Hope, Goodyear, and fizik. The frame is made of anodized 6061 aluminum and is assembled using a structural adhesive bonding technology developed by FLIT, rather than traditional welding.

Price and availability

The official price of the FLIT M2i is £2,999. At the time of checking the official website, the model was already available in the FLIT store; however, the manufacturer notes that the bike is produced in limited batches.

According to the specialized publication VeloDisco, FLIT unveiled the M2i on August 20, 2026, and the first limited batches are scheduled to be delivered to customers before the end of August.

Who is it suitable for?

The FLIT M2i is primarily designed for urban multimodal transport: cycling to the station, taking public transport, and then riding to the final destination.

The model's strengths are its very low weight, compact folding design, integrated battery, and high-quality components.

The main trade-off is the £2,999 price tag and the lack of a multi-speed drivetrain. This isn't a critical issue for a flat city, but the single-speed system's capabilities will be limited on steep climbs.

The bottom line: the FLIT M2i is not a budget e-bike, but a premium urban model that prioritizes portability above all else. Its weight of 13.3 kg (including the battery) is indeed its key competitive advantage.
