A standard bird feeder allows you to watch birds, but the Birdfy Feeder 2 Pro and Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo transform this activity into a digital nature-watching experience. Both models feature a camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, a smartphone app, and an AI system that identifies bird species. When a visitor arrives, the user receives a notification on their phone and can view the recording.
These are not new models for 2025. Birdfy introduced the Feeder 2 series in August 2024: the official announcement for the Feeder 2 Duo was published on August 26, 2024, while the launch video for the Feeder 2 Pro is dated August 23, 2024. These models remained on sale in 2025 and received additional software features.
Birdfy Feeder 2 Pro
The Pro model is equipped with a dual-lens front-facing camera. A wide-angle lens captures the activity around the feeder in 1080p, while a portrait lens records close-ups of the birds in 2K. The system automatically tracks the bird and attempts to keep it within the frame. For dynamic scenes, a high-frame-rate mode is available, allowing for subsequent slow-motion playback.
Birdfy’s AI is said to recognize over 6,000 bird species . However, this does not guarantee the correct identification of every individual bird; the company itself warns that accuracy depends on the species and conditions.
The kit includes a 3W solar panel , and the unit houses a 9,000 mAh battery. Birdfy's test data indicates that the dual-camera models operate for approximately 85 days based on 10 clips per day, and about 21 days based on 50 clips per day, excluding the additional benefit of the solar panel. These are estimates, not guaranteed battery life figures.
Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo
The Duo features two cameras and three lenses. In addition to the main dual-lens camera (offering 1080p and 2K resolution), a 1080p side camera is included. This provides the user with three viewpoints: a wide shot, a close-up portrait of the bird, and a side view.
The Duo comes equipped with a larger 5W solar panel and two independent 9,000 mAh batteries. The manufacturer positions this system as a solution for long-term monitoring that virtually eliminates the need to regularly remove the feeder for charging.
Both models feature 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi , operate via the Birdfy app, support bird detection notifications, and have an IP66-rated housing. The feeder holds 42.3 ounces (approximately 1.25 liters) of feed. It can be mounted on a tree, wall, fence, or a dedicated stand.

Dimensions and weight
Feeder 2 Pro: 338.5 × 310.34 × 229.51 mm, 1.46 kg.
Feeder 2 Duo: 338.5 × 321.61 × 229.51 mm, 1.75 kg.
The manufacturer does not specify a mandatory mounting height for the feeder itself. For a typical garden, Birdfy recommends a height of approximately 1.5–2 meters above the ground, or about 1.2–1.8 meters when mounted on a pole. However, it is more important to ensure safe access for the birds and to protect the feeder from cats and other predators.
Where and for whom should it be used?
The Feeder 2 Pro and Duo are designed primarily for gardens, private homes, country houses, or other outdoor areas. Their IP66 rating allows for year-round use in various weather conditions. They are an appealing choice for nature lovers, families with children, birdwatchers, and anyone who simply wants to see what is happening in their garden, even when away from home.
