Release date: November 28, 2024 — Stark Future unveiled the production road-legal version of the VARG EX. Initial customer deliveries began in 2025.
The Spanish company Stark Future created the VARG EX for those who want the capabilities of a competition enduro bike but wish to forgo a gasoline engine. This model is a road-legal version of the electric VARG MX and is equipped with the components necessary for use on public roads.
Unlike a standard urban electric motorcycle, the VARG EX is designed primarily for spirited riding and off-road use. At the same time, the absence of an internal combustion engine means there is no transmission, clutch, or exhaust system, and no need to refuel with gasoline.
Up to 80 horsepower
The VARG EX is available with two power options: 60 hp and 80 hp. The top-spec version delivers up to 80 hp, a very high figure for a relatively lightweight electric enduro bike.
The motorcycle is equipped with a 7.2 kWh battery. Stark Future states that the energy capacity is designed for prolonged, active riding; however, actual runtime depends heavily on the riding mode. Energy consumption is significantly higher during intense off-road riding than during casual riding.
One of the main advantages of an electric powertrain is the ability to generate traction almost instantly. The driver does not need to shift gears or use a clutch, which is particularly convenient on challenging sections of the road.
About 120 kilograms
Despite its high power, the VARG EX remains relatively lightweight. The motorcycle weighs approximately 120 kg with the battery installed.
For enduro, this is a crucial factor: the lower the weight, the easier it is to handle the motorcycle on off-road terrain, pick it up after a fall, and navigate challenging sections.
The design features KYB suspension , a Brembo braking system, and 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels . This combination is characteristic of enduro competition bikes.

Electronics instead of a gearbox
The VARG EX features a wide range of electronic settings. The rider can adjust engine characteristics, including power output, engine braking, and throttle response.
The motorcycle is also equipped with a traction control system and various riding modes. Settings can be adapted for asphalt, dirt, or more challenging terrain.
The digital control system plays a key role. Stark Future utilizes the rugged Arkenstone smartphone, mounted on the motorcycle, to manage various settings and access navigation functions.
Not just for the highway
The main difference between the VARG EX and the VARG MX racing version is the ability to use it on public roads, provided it meets the requirements of the specific market.
This makes the electric enduro bike more versatile. You can ride it to the riding area under its own power and then continue the trip along dirt roads or off-road trails.
At the same time, the VARG EX remains a specialized motorcycle. Its high price, sporty tuning, and focus on active riding make it a choice for enduro enthusiasts rather than a standard mode of urban transport.
Electric enduro is becoming a reality.
The Stark VARG EX demonstrates that electric motorcycle development is not limited to urban models. Manufacturers are also seeking to replace gasoline engines in performance machines, where low weight, high power, and instant throttle response are crucial.
The VARG EX is interesting precisely because of the combination of these characteristics: up to 80 hp, a weight of around 120 kg, and a fully electric powertrain.
The model was unveiled in late 2024, with actual deliveries taking place in 2025. Therefore, the VARG EX can be considered one of the notable electric models to enter the market during this period.
