A new "Step-by-step" mode is now available for users of Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator who use the apps in cars with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It is designed to ensure reliable route navigation in conditions with a weak or unstable GPS signal.
In this mode, the driver receives guidance on upcoming maneuvers, the distance to them, and key reference points—such as street names or highway exits. At the same time, the vehicle's position on the map does not "jump" between points, and the route is not recalculated due to temporary positioning errors.
Previously, the "Step-by-step" mode was available only in the Yandex Maps and Navigator mobile apps, but it has now also been added to the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto automotive platforms.
In addition to the new mode, users have access to all the services' core features: address search, route planning based on traffic conditions, real-time information on traffic jams and incidents, speed limit and speed camera alerts, and access to saved locations.
Using Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available with a Yandex Plus subscription. It also includes access to media services and other features of the Yandex ecosystem.
