ENVO AT21: compact electric 4x4 scooter hits the market

The Canadian company ENVO Drive Systems is developing the UPT modular electric platform; one of the variants based on it is the four-wheeled ENVO AT21 . This model is designed for users who find a standard electric scooter insufficient but consider a full-sized ATV too large.

The AT21 features a 4×4 configuration with independent in-wheel motors. The manufacturer emphasizes stability, traction, and the ability to operate on soil, gravel, grass, and other uneven surfaces.

Depending on the configuration, the AT21 can be equipped with up to four in-wheel motors delivering a combined peak power of up to 12 kW . The top speed is rated at 60 km/h , and the range is up to 100–200 km , depending on the battery, load, and driving conditions.

The model uses one or two removable NMC batteries with a capacity of approximately 3 kWh each. With two modules installed, the total capacity is around 6 kWh .

The design features adjustable suspension with approximately 120 mm of travel, a ground clearance of around 200 mm, hydraulic disc brakes on all four wheels, and regenerative braking.

ENVO positions the AT21 as part of the UPT platform rather than as an ordinary electric scooter. The architecture features CAN bus control, dual vehicle control units, Bluetooth, OTA capabilities, OBD, and a mobile app interface.

The AT21 is designed for a variety of use cases: riding on dirt roads and trails, camping, navigating large properties, resorts and parks, patrolling, industrial facilities, construction sites, and various utility tasks.

The stated dimensions of the platform are approximately 1650 × 1000 mm , and its mass is around 220 kg or less, depending on the configuration. The maximum payload is approximately 150 kg.

The AT21 is the result of years of development by UPT. Work on the compact electric 4×4 began back in 2019–2022, and the company finalized the architecture of the production-ready prototype in early 2026. Production of the platform is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026 .

On the official Modular-EV website, the price of the ENVO AT21 is listed at $9,763.50 , and the model is currently available for pre-order. The exact delivery start date has not yet been announced; initial deliveries are expected to begin in early spring 2027 .
